Shared truck or private truck?

A shared truck carries more than one customer’s load on a route. It is an option to discuss when you have a smaller load or flexibility with dates. Ask which pickup and delivery windows can be offered for your enquiry.

A private truck is an option when you want to discuss a dedicated load. The suitable vehicle, route, dates and cost still need to be confirmed for your move.

Routes to discuss with the team

Current service information lists the following connections. A listed route does not confirm a departure date or available capacity.

  • Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney connections.
  • Sydney and Brisbane connections.
  • Melbourne and Adelaide connections.
  • For another pickup or delivery location, send the exact suburbs and postcodes so we can check whether the job can be arranged.

What an interstate quote depends on

An interstate move needs its own quote. The published Melbourne local hourly rate is not an interstate price.

  • Pickup and delivery locations, including access at both ends.
  • The furniture list, approximate box count and dimensions of large items.
  • Your preferred dates and how flexible pickup and delivery can be.
  • Shared or private truck preference.
  • Packing, furniture disassembly or reassembly, heavy items and other requested work.

Confirm the details before making travel plans

Ask for the agreed pickup and delivery windows, included work, price, payment terms and any extra-charge conditions in writing. Confirm arrangements for keys, property access and who will be available at each address.

Tell us about valuable or fragile items before booking. Ask the team to explain the applicable moving terms and any protection or coverage limits for your particular job.

Questions before you book

Do you offer both shared and private interstate trucks?

Yes. DAISHU offers shared and private truck options. The route, load size and available dates determine which arrangements can be quoted for your move.

Does the local hourly rate apply to an interstate move?

The A$99 hourly base rate excluding GST is for Melbourne local moving with a 4.5-tonne truck and two movers. Interstate jobs require a separate quote based on the route, load, dates and requested services. Quoted prices exclude GST.

Can you give me a delivery date before I book?

Provide your required dates and any property handover deadlines. Ask the team to confirm the pickup and delivery windows that can be offered before accepting the quote.

Can you move a few furniture items between states?

Send an item list, approximate dimensions and your preferred dates. The team can assess whether a shared or private truck arrangement is available for that load and route.

Can I request packing or furniture assembly?

Tell us which items need packing, disassembly or reassembly. The scope and cost should be confirmed as part of the quote rather than assumed to be included.

What should I send to obtain a useful quote?

Send the pickup and delivery suburbs and postcodes, date or date range, item list, box count, access notes and any special handling needs. The team may request full addresses and further details before finalising the quote.
